There are two ways to access ad hoc support from Generate:
Phone and book
At Generate we understand that that from time to time people with a learning disability will need support for one off activities and outings. You can therefore book support you require to meet these eventualities by making a telephone call to the Generate office and booking a support worker for the time and date required. For individuals who are currently using Generate services and whom we know well we will charge a reduced hourly rate. For group support where one worker is sufficient for the needs of the group we can arrange for the cost to be shared across all members of the group as required.
Bank your hours
Banked support may form part of a contingency plan designed to enable you to call on support over a year as and when you need it. This service is suitable for people who do not need support most of the time but do need someone they can call on during difficult times or when something they were not expecting happens. It can be thought of in terms of an insurance policy and can form part of a contingency strategy on your support plan. The annual charge can be spread over monthly payments and entitles you to draw on up to 13 hours of support a quarter. We will undertake to telephone you monthly to see how you are and ask if you need support and you can ring us at any time to book support worker time or talk through a problem.
